Enzo Cena, born in Turin in 1944, is the founding partner and President of the Accademia Liuteria Piemontese San Filippo Association. For years he has been interested in the construction of bowed instruments such as violins, violas, cellos. Long stays abroad have allowed him to enrich his violin making skills, gaining experience, and experimenting with new construction techniques.
His work is mainly inspired by the tradition of Piedmonts violin making, assuming its imprint and models.
Attentive to the study of shapes and materials, he dedicates an important part of his activity to scientific research in the field of mechanics and acoustics of the bowed instrument.
His instruments are appreciated in Italy and abroad; he also carries out restorations and maintenance of ancient and contemporary instruments.
